Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows - A Sparkle Review!

Hey sparkle people!

Makeup Geek has described their pigment as a cream & powder hybrid, that does not require primer, and does not crease, flake, or smudge, with intense pigmentation.

Packaging:
I love the packaging - Mainly for the fact that it is really the packaging that i imagined when it first released! The packaging has the usual Makeup geek style, and an added metallic stripes to distinguish them from the rest of the shadows.

Sparkle favs: October favs 2014

Hey there sparkle people!
I have put down short reviews for my October favs along with swatches and product details - I live in Dubai so have put down the prices in Dhs - You can find the same products on Amazon & Ebay as well!

1. NYX Blushes:
Nyx cosmetics is a really great line and their blushes are no less! Just love how they are not chalky and super great to build the colour on your cheek. Great for first timers who are scared of blushes! The colours i have tried are Mocha (Matte Pink) & Desert rose (Pinkish coral sheen).
Available at Beauty bay outlets for AED 29 only - Prices subject to change.

2. NYX Matte Lipsticks:
Nyx cosmetics (see why i love them?) have the most moisturizing matte lipsticks in town that you dont even need a lipbalm underneath it! I have the shade Euro Trash which is a "My lips but better" kind of Lipstick for me - It a perfect one for the "Kylie Jenner" look

! They have over 18 shades of this so go crazy :D
Available at Beauty bay outlets for AED 29 only - Prices subject to change.

3. GOSH Cosmetics - Velvet Touch Lipstick:
I have never tried this line before but im glad i did! Their lipstick is unbelievably pigmented and it goes on super smooth on the lips! Its as moisturising as Mac's Cremesheen range and extremely affordable! LOVE IT!
I have the shades 160(Top) & 159(Top).
Available at Beauty bay & Boots outlets - Around AED 40(Not sure:( )

4. Dermalogica Breakout clearing range - Overnight treatment cream
I have had hormonal acne for ages now and have really needed a night moisturiser that would calm my skin down! This was truly a life saver - my breakouts disappeared in just 3 days! And the best part is that it doesnt dry out the face as well.
Available at Boots Pharmacy for AED 89.

5. LORAC PRO Palette:
Lorac Pro Palette 1 - Amazing pigmentation and hands down the creamiest set of eyeshadows i have ever tried! Perfect for warm skin tones!! 'Nuff said.
Available on www.alshop.com for AED 219 (http://www.alshop.com/lorac-pro-palette.html)

Fall 2014 update - Makeup trends of the season

Hey there sparkle people!

I know i haven't posted for too long but do follow me on Instagram (@sparklepassion25) for some featured looks and mini tutorials!
Come fall and its smokey eyes and dark lips all over! Don't fall back on the trend - go ahead and check out some of the more wearable trends that I cannot wait to try out!

Metallics –
Everyone seems to be going metallic this season – Not only eyes, but Lips too! So stock up on some good pigments and get started on this super-hot trend! I love the trend of putting a pop of metallic in the inner corner of the eyes. Another great way to honour this trend is to line the top lashes in black and the bottom in a beautiful metallic colour. The easiest of course is to cover your eyelid with a beautiful metallic colour for a party – Use pigments for the best effect.

Lash out –
Cute doll like lashes are the statement of the season – Prada, Gucci, and St. Laurent agree!  This is a perfectly wearable look ‘coz who doesn’t love full pretty lashes?! Stock up on some great falsies and a perfect mascara for every day.

Dealing with the blues –
This is my personal fav - Fall 2014 beauty is all about the blues – look around and you will find gorgeous turquoises, sapphires, and cobalts – whether it’s a shimmer across the lid or a pop of colour on the waterline!

 Trend highlight –
Iridescent colours and super highlighted faces were all over the runway for the biggest names in fashion.

Smokey eyes –
This trend has been here for a while and is definitely here to stay! As always, Autumn 2014 brings about a whole lot of Smokey eyes with emphasis on the smudged liner on the lower lash line. Be sure to line your waterline to make your eyes pop!

Bright eyes –
If you thought bright eyes were only for summer – Think again! Those coloured eyes pencils are surely your new BFFs this autumn! If you think you can’t carry off too much colour on the lid, just try this – Mattify your face, put on a neutral shadow, and line your waterline with a pop of colour!

Flawless –
This is one trend that will have your skin thanking you – Barely there makeup is a hot trend on runways of Balmain, Stella McCartney and the likes. Invest in a rich night cream to rehydrate your skin and don’t slack off on your skincare routines – this will help you lay off the foundation and concealor for that flawless look. You could use a light blusher for that youthful glow. Check out the post on basic essentials of skincare here
A great product for breakout prone skin is the “Dermalogica” breakout range – truly amazing for transforming your skin!

Lip trends

Lips are trending on Nudes and peached for a very subtle no – makeup makeup look, or Berry lips/Red lips for that daring statement look. Mac has some gorgeous shades for this trend!

Exaggerated cat – eye –
One thing I saw a lot of was the exaggerated cat eye! Beautiful extended winged liners, and double winged liners were the trends I found. This trend might be a tad outside my comfort zone but it definitely is worth a try!

60’s makeup –

We have all seen and loved the Kylie Jenner 60’s matte lipstick look – Time to recreate it with the 60s makeup trend going big this season. The eyes aren’t too much to concentrate on with just bold liner above and below the lash line.

Hope you enjoyed this post - Do leave your comments for me below and let me know what you think! I promise to post some tutorials on fall looks that might help you guys out.

Until then, remember our motto,
